I am humbled by the opportunity to address this important gathering today. I extend my gratitude to the organizers for this opportunity for me to share our insights and engage in this gathering on behalf of the Maldivian Government.  

Maldives is a Small Island Developing State - one of the most vulnerable countries in the world. Our identity, economic vitality, and prosperity are deeply tied to the oceans surrounding our islands. The vibrant coral reefs and the rich marine ecosystems found in our waters are the only source of income and livelihood and are deeply connected to our lives and wellbeing. Our unique geography has shaped the cultural identity and economic activities of the Maldivian people, where the population almost entirely depends on coastal and marine resources and services obtained from them.

The oceans, as you know, play an essential role in regulating the global climate.  The UN Ocean Decade calls for global action, urging nations to come together to reverse the decline of ocean health and ensure the sustainable use of its resources. For us in the Maldives, this is not just a goal, but a necessity. Our fisheries, particularly the pole-and-line method of tuna fishing, have long been recognized as one of the most sustainable in the world. This traditional practice not only reflects our deep respect for the ocean but also our commitment to responsible stewardship. I remember the quote by His Excellency President Xi Jinping, who had very wisely advised to live with the ocean. This resonates very closely with us - as you can tell, our entire population lives by the ocean. From the food on our plate and from our surroundings, you can tell that we live from what we take from the ocean, and so of course we truly believe we have to live with the ocean.

However, as the demands on marine resources grow, the challenges we face in maintaining sustainability also increase. The UN Ocean Decade offers us an unprecedented opportunity to make use of global scientific knowledge and innovation, ensuring that our fisheries can thrive in a changing world. The Maldives is already taking proactive steps, through initiatives to decarbonize our fisheries sector and introduce advanced technologies in fishing vessels. We are committed to source at least 35% of the electricity used in the processing sector from renewable sources of energy by the end of 2027. These initiatives align closely with the goals of the Ocean Decade, where we aim to not only improve the quality and efficiency of our fisheries but also reduce its carbon footprint and protect the very ecosystems that sustain them.

As we gather here today, our oceans around the world face unprecedented challenges. These issues not only threaten marine biodiversity but also jeopardize the livelihoods of millions who depend on the ocean’s resources. Maldives is subject to high projected local extinction of marine species by the end of this century due to climate change, posing significant risks to our fisheries and communities that depend on marine resources. Healthy oceans are vital for sustainable development, climate regulation, and food security. It is our responsibility to act and ensure that future generations inherit a thriving marine environment.

The Maldives is extremely concerned about the decline in the health and resilience of the global marine ecosystems.  Overfishing, dangerous fishing practices and Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated fishing (IUU), pollution, and other stressors constitute a massive threat to the productivity of the ocean and its resources. As a country heavily reliant on fisheries for food security, we remain committed to banning harmful fishing methods and promoting sustainable practices, as enshrined in the Fisheries Act of the Maldives.

The challenges we face today is not local, it transcends national borders, necessitating robust partnerships across nations and regions.  Therefore, it is our interest to work collaboratively to harness the ocean's resources responsibly, ensuring a balance that supports both ecosystems and communities.  The power of collaboration is evident in many successful initiatives and we must take examples from them.

In the Maldives, we are proud to stand alongside our fellow SIDS in tackling one of the most pressing global challenges - marine plastic litter. We have committed to phasing out single-use plastics by 2030, a bold national target that reflects our deep commitment to protecting our oceans. This aligns with the vision outlined in the AOSIS Leaders' Declaration, where we call on the international community to work towards finalizing a legally binding instrument on plastic pollution, including pollution in the marine environment. It is vital that this agreement is not only finalized but also effectively implemented to address this urgent issue.

Each of us has a role to play in this collective endeavour. Governments must enact policies that prioritize sustainable practices and I am proud to say that the Maldives is committed to being at the forefront of these initiatives. Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) have an equally important role. Your voices are powerful tools for advocacy, raising awareness, and driving the change we need.  Local communities can share traditional knowledge, while the private sector can invest in sustainable marine technologies. Together, we can form a unified front in the fight for our oceans.

I strongly believe that innovation plays a crucial role in effective ocean and fisheries management. From deploying technology to monitor fishing activities to implementing data-driven strategies, we have numerous examples of effective practices that reinforce our commitment to sustainability. Let us continue to learn from one another, integrating traditional knowledge with scientific expertise to enhance our management practices.

During H.E. President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's state visit to China from 7 to 13th January, this year, we signed two significant MOUs aimed at strengthening scientific research, ocean observation, and diversifying our fisheries and ocean resources sector. Following the successful discussions between H.E. President Xi Jinping and H.E. President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, private sector, research and development as well as training institutes and Chinese Government agencies have shown strong interest to work together and some have visited the Maldives. 

I strongly believe this marks the beginning of a fruitful partnership which is beneficial for both our nations. There are several key areas where I see tremendous potential for collaboration to modernize and transform our fisheries sector. We welcome investments in aquaculture development to make it an economically viable industry in the Maldives. We also welcome investments in our processing sector to expand our storage and processing capacity. We are also keen to work in the research and development and capacity building to strengthen the fisheries sector.

Today, I urge each one of you to take action and we will do so! Whether it’s supporting sustainable fishing initiatives, advocating for sound policies that ensure the responsible use of our ocean resources, or collaborating to improve our fisheries management strategies, your efforts matter. Together, we can create a resilient marine environment that benefits all. Let us embrace this journey with hope and determination, for the future of our oceans depends on our collective action today.

Good evening and “As-salaam alaikum wa-rahmathullah wa-barakaathu”.

I am pleased to stand before you today as we gather for the Indo-Pacific Endeavor 2024. This occasion is not just a meeting of minds, but a powerful testament to our shared commitment to fostering peace, stability, and prosperity across this vibrant and strategically vital region.

This year holds special significance, as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Australia. Over the past five decades, our relationship has evolved into a robust and enduring partnership, marked by mutual respect, trust, and a shared commitment to the values that have shaped our nations.

Australia has been a steadfast friend to the Maldives, and our relationship has flourished through our collaborative efforts in various fields, including education, tourism, trade, and environmental conservation. I thank the Government of Australia for the assistance in different fields which have contributed significantly to the socio-economic development of the Maldives.

As we look back on the past 50 years, we see a journey marked by shared successes and a commitment to a future where both our nations thrive. Our partnership has also been about working together on global platforms to advocate for issues that are of mutual interest. Whether it is climate change, maritime security, or sustainable development, the Maldives and Australia have consistently found common ground and have worked together to amplify our voices on the world stage.

The Maldives, a nation defined by its relationship with the ocean, understands the profound significance of the Indo-Pacific. The waters that surround us are not mere boundaries; they are lifelines that connect us, sustain us, and present us with both opportunities and responsibilities. As such, our commitment to ensuring the security and sustainability of these waters is deeply ingrained in our national ethos.

The Indo-Pacific is more than a geographic expanse. It is the beating heart of the global economy, a crossroads where East meets West, and a cultural mosaic where diverse traditions and histories converge. It is a region that is home to over half of the world’s population, a region that drives global economic growth, and a region where the aspirations of billions of people are shaped by the ebb and flow of the tides.

In this context, the importance of maintaining a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific cannot be overstated. The stability of this region is crucial not only for the countries within it but for the world at large. It is within this framework that the Indo-Pacific Endeavor takes on profound significance. This initiative represents a collective effort to address the challenges we face, from maritime security and territorial integrity to climate change and sustainable development.

The Indo-Pacific Endeavor 2024 is a shining example of how we can work together to promote peace and stability in the region. Through this initiative, we are not only strengthening our ties but also deepening our people-to-people connections and fostering mutual understanding.

We are committed to upholding the principles of international law, supporting regional cooperation, and promoting environmental sustainability. These are not just diplomatic imperatives for us; they are essential to the survival and well-being of our people.

In terms of security, the Indo-Pacific is a region of both great promise and potential volatility. The challenges we face—whether they are traditional security threats, such as territorial disputes, or non-traditional threats, like piracy, human trafficking, and illegal fishing—require a coordinated and comprehensive approach. The Maldives is committed to contributing to regional security through collaboration, capacity building, and the sharing of best practices.

The foreign policy of President His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Muizzu emphasizes a balanced and diversified approach with all countries. For President Dr. Muizzu, safeguarding these waters is crucial for ensuring sustainable development and prosperity for the Maldivian people, as well as the sovereignty and independence of the country.

As we gather here today, we must also recognize the importance of connectivity. The Indo-Pacific is a region defined by its connections—between nations, between economies, and between people. Enhancing these connections, whether through physical infrastructure, digital networks, or people-to-people exchanges, is crucial for unlocking the full potential of our region. The Maldives is keen to play a role in this effort, by improving maritime connectivity, promoting sustainable tourism, and facilitating cultural exchanges that bring our peoples closer together.

Tonight, as we embark on this significant initiative, let us do so with a spirit of partnership and collaboration. Let us remember that our strength lies in our unity, and that the challenges of our time demand collective action. The Indo-Pacific Endeavor is a testament to what we can achieve when we work together, our shared efforts will lead to lasting positive outcomes. I am confident that together, we can build a future where our region remains one of peace, prosperity, and opportunity for all. Let us continue to build on the strong foundations we have established, and work towards a brighter, more secure future for the Indo-Pacific.

Theme: 36th Session of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)’s Committee on Fisheries (COFI)  

Distinguished Delegates, Ladies and Gentlemen, It is with profound gratitude that I stand before you today. Representing the Maldives at the 36th Session of the FAO Committee on Fisheries is not just a professional duty but a personal journey rooted in the waters of my homeland. I come from a long line of fishermen. My earliest memories are the sight of our small fishing boat and the stories of the sea shared by my father and grandfather. These were not just stories of bountiful catches or turbulent storms but narratives of resilience, stewardship, and a deep respect for the ocean. For generations, my family, like many others in the Maldives, has thrived on our waters' abundant resources, using pole, line, and handline. We have celebrated its gifts, respected its power, and understood its fragility. The baton of this legacy has been passed from my forefathers to me, and it is a baton I must pass on to future generations. This is more than a duty; it is a profound responsibility to ensure that the lifeblood of our nation remains vibrant and sustainable

The fisheries sector is one of the central pillars of our economy. About 11% of the country's labour force is employed in the fisheries sector, contributing almost 6% of the country's annual GDP. We are also one of the highest fish-consuming communities in the world. We eat tuna for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which adds up to more than 150 kg per capita per year. Fish and fish products make up more than 90% of the total exports. Recognising this, we have made several sacrifices to maintain the health of our ocean. We have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of sustainable fishing practices and community-driven conservation efforts in the Maldives. Our pole-and-line fishing method passed down through the generations, is a testament to the harmony that can exist between human livelihoods and the health of our oceans. It is a model of sustainability that we are proud to share with the world. But we know that we cannot do it alone. The ocean connects us all, and its future depends on our ability to work together, share knowledge, and support one another. As we gather here today, I am reminded of the proverb, "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." The challenges we face require us to go far, and we can only do so by coming together and pooling our resources, expertise, and commitment. In this spirit of unity, I would like to point towards the FAO's Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries and the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 14, which calls on us to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas, and marine resources. I want to encourage all leaders to take bold actions, to make difficult decisions, and to be guided by the principles of sustainability, equity, and justice. Because we have to keep reminding ourselves that we do not inherit the ocean from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children. We are making significant strides to improve our contribution. We aim to make our fishery greener by investing in renewable energy.

Under President Dr Muizzu's vision, we aim to use at least 35% of our fisheries industry's energy from renewable sources within the next four years. We need your assistance in our journey to fulfil this ambition. We also recognise the challenges faced by small island developing states like ours. We only have the ocean to thrive. We do not have the power or the ability to compete in the globalised world. We have to import everything except fish. Our freight costs are higher, our labour costs are higher, and the ingredients used in production are significantly higher. Natural and global events and conflicts impact our trade. On top of it, we would need to pay considerably higher import tariffs. Our fragility leaves us behind in the globalised world. We must collectively remove trade barriers, particularly for fragile and vulnerable countries, such as Small Island Developing States like the Maldives. Given the conditions imposed on us, we are forced to sell raw materials to the global market for them to process.

Under the guidance of President Dr. Muizzu, we want to change this status quo. Here in this room, I see leaders and visionaries who share a common goal. We are here because we care. And we are here because we want to see victories—victories that may not always be complete but those that advance the cause and drive change, even by mere degrees. I hope this forum brings us the opportunity to build on this spirit and contribute to ensuring that the ocean remains a source of life, sustenance, and prosperity for all.

The opening ceremony of the Fifth Maldives Marine Science Symposium

Honourable Ministers, Special Envoy for Climate Change, Chancellor and Vice Chancellor of the Maldives National University, distinguished guests, Participants of the Fifth Maldives Marine Science Symposium and dear colleagues, Assalaam Alaikum and a very good morning.

Let me first extend a very warm welcome to the Fifth Maldives Marine Science Symposium. It is an honor to stand before you today as we celebrate not only the remarkable achievements in marine science      but also the 40th anniversary of the Maldives Marine Research Institute (MMRI).

 MMRI started out as the Marine Research Section under the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture in 1984. And in 1999, with a stronger mandate Marine Research Centre was established. Since its establishment, MMRI has pioneered marine sciences in the Maldives. Recognizing the critical role of science in ocean resource management, MMRI was founded at a time when the Maldivian waters were largely uncharted. Much of what we knew then came from regional expeditions that included the Maldives.

Over the past four decades, MMRI has produced significant research on fisheries, marine ecosystems, and more recently, mariculture. The institute’s scientific outputs have been instrumental in shaping national policies and the Maldives’ engagements with regional bodies that manage various fisheries and ocean resources. MMRI has also been pivotal in developing research capacity within the Maldives, fostering collaborations with renowned research organizations worldwide.

we have witnessed the growth of numerous experts in marine science, many of whom began their journeys at the Institute, back then Marine Research Centre.  They have since made significant contributions both within and outside the institute. Today, we see a vibrant community of NGOs , private organizations and independent researchers actively engaging in marine scientific research in the Maldives. Their collective effort contributes to enhancing our understanding of the oceans that forms the basis of our economy, livelihoods, and existence.

Dear esteemed researchers, it is my pleasure to emphasize that the present administration brings forth an ambitious ocean agenda. As we look ahead, I eagerly anticipate increased focused research on our ocean resources – a commitment to their sustainable development that will yield benefits for generations to come.

The Maldives Marine Science Symposia have become a cornerstone for the marine science community in the Maldives. These symposia provide an invaluable platform for marine scientists to share their work, form collaborations, and drive forward the frontiers of marine science. While it’s encouraging to see growing body of research on Maldivian marine ecosystems, it is crucial that these efforts are well regulated. Given the vast ocean surrounding the Maldives, local engagement in marine research is essential to deepen our understanding of our marine environment and its processes.

I urge the active research community in the Maldives to adhere to the regulations governing marine scientific research. This will ensure that our research outputs are coordinated and comprehensive, contributing to the strategic goals of enhancing ocean-based commerce, rehabilitating fisheries resources, and sustainably utilizing marine ecosystems. Let’s work together to protect and sustainably manage our marine resources for the benefit of future generations.

As we gather here today, let us celebrate the legacy of MMRI and the collective efforts of all those who have contributed to marine science in the Maldives. I would like to acknowledge the dedicated staff of MMRI, both past and present, for their outstanding work in increasing our understanding of the Maldivian marine environment. Your contributions have been invaluable.  I wish to see MMRI expand its research capacities further and develop robust networks with local research communities active across the country. Together, we can ensure that our marine resources are managed sustainably for the benefit of future generations

Let us also look forward to the future, where continued research and collaboration will lead to sustainable management and conservation of our precious marine resources. I am particularly hopeful to see increased local engagement in marine science, as our community’s involvement is crucial for the continued success and sustainability of our marine ecosystems.

އާދެ، މަސްވެރިންގެ ދުވަސް އަޅުގަނޑުމެންނާއި މި ބައްދަލުކުރީ ރިޔާސީ އިންތިހާބަށްފަހު ގައުމީ ފެންވަރުގައި ފާހަގަކުރާ ފުރަތަމަ ދުވަހުގެ ގޮތުގައި. ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ ޑރ. މުއިއްޒު އެމަނިކުފާނުގެ ޒަޢާމަތު ފެއްޓެވި ފަހުން ފުރަތަމަ ބޭއްވެވި ކެބިނެޓްގައި އެންމެ ފުރަތަމަ އެޖެންޑާ ކުރެއްްވީ މަސްވެރިކަމުގެ ކަރުދާހަކީ މަސްވެރިންނާއި ގުޅުންހުރި ކަރުދާހެއް. ވަރަށް ހާއްސަ ކަމެއް އެމަނިިކުފާނުގެ މެނިފެސްޓޯގައި މަސްވެރިންނަށް މަސްވެރި ސިނާއަތު ކުރިއެރުވުމަށްޓަކައި އެބައޮތް. އަދި އެމަނިިކުފާނުގެ މެނިފެސްޓޯގައި، އެއީ އަދި ހަމަ އެމަނިިކުފާނު ލިޔުއްވި އެއްޗެއް ނޫންކަން ދިވެހި ރާއްޖޭގެ މަސްވެރިންގެ ދުވަސް އަޅުގަނޑުމެންނާއި ބައްދަލުކުރި ފުރަތަމަ ދުވަހު މިއީ އެމަނިކުފާނު މަސްވެރިންނާއި ބައްދަލުކުރައްވާ ދެވަނަ ހަފްލާ .ރޭގައިވެސް ރައީސުލްޖުމްހުރިއްޔާ ރާއްޖެގެ އެކި ކަންކޮޅުތަކުން މަސްވެރިންގެ ދުވަސް ފާހަގަކުރުމުގެ މި ރަސްމިއްޔާތުގައި، ވުޒާރާއިން އިސްނަގައިގެން ބޭއްވި މަސްވެރިންގެ ގުންޒަރު މި ރަސްމިއްޔާތުގައި މަސްވެރިންނާއެކު ވަރަށް ގިނަ ވަގުތު ރައީސުލްޖުމްހުރިއްޔާ ހޭދަކުރެއްވި. މިކަމުން ދޭހަކޮށްދެނީ އެމަނިިކުފާނުގެ ހިތްޕުޅުގައި ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ މި ސިނާއަތު ކުރިއަރުވައި ތަރައްގީކޮށް މަސްވެރިންގެ އާއިލާތަކަށް ކުރިއެރުން ހޯއްދަވައިދެއްވުމަށް އޮތް ޝައުގުވެރިކަން.

އާދެ މިއަހަރުގެ މަސްވެރިންގެ ދުވަހާއި އަޅުގަނޑުމެން ބައްދަލުކުރިއިރު މަސްވެރި ސިނާއަތު އޮތް ހާލަތު އަޅުގަނޑުމެންނަށް އެބަ އެނގޭ. މަސްވެރިންގެ ހުރި ބޮޑެތި ކަންބޮޑުވުން ތަކަކާއެކުގައި ރައީސުލްޖުމްހުރިއްޔާ ޑރ. މުއިއްޒުގެ މި ޒައާމަތު ފެށިގެން މިދިޔައީ.

މި ސަރުކާރު ފެށުނުއިރު މަސްވެރިންނަށް ދޭން ޖެހޭ ފައިސާ ނުދީ ވަރަށް ގިނަ ދުވަސްވެއްޖެ. އެއީ ދައުލަތުގެ މާލީ ހާލަތު މިވަގުތު އޮތްގޮތުންނާއި އެކީގައި. އެހެންނަމަވެސް ވަރަށް ބޮޑު އިސްކަމެއް ދެއްވައިގެން މި 3 ހަފްތާގެ ތެރޭގައި މަސްވެރިންނަށް ނުލިބި ހުރި ފައިސާގެ ތެރެއިން 136 މިލިއަން ރުފިޔާ މިހާރު މިވަނީ މަސްވެރިންނަށް ދޫކުރެވިފައި.

އުނދަގޫ ދުވަސްތަކެއް ނަމަވެސް މަސްވެރި އާއިލާތަކަށް މިގޮތަށް ފައިސާ ނުލިބި ގިނަ ދުވަސްވުމަކީ ވަރަށް އުނދަގޫ ތަހައްމަލް ކުރަމުންދާ ދުވަސްތަކެއްކަން އެނގޭ. އެނގިވަޑައިގަންނަވާނެ މަސްވެރިންގެ ހުރި ކަންބޮޑުވުންތަކުގެ ލިސްޓް ކުޑައެއްނޫން. އިއްޔެ ގުންޒާރުގައިވެސް މި ވާހަކަތައް ދެކެވިގެންދިޔަ. މަސްވެރިން ބާނާ މަސްކޮޅަށް އަވަހަށް ފައިސާ ނުލިބި ގިނަ ދުވަސްވުމާއި މަސްވެރިން މަސްކޮޅު ބާނައިގެން އައިސް ވަގުތުން މަސްކޮޅު ކިރާނުލެވުމާއި މަސްވެރިން ބޭނުންވާ އައިސް ބޭނުންވާ ވަރަށް މަސްވެރިންނަށް ނުލިބުމާއި، މި ހުރީ ދަތިތަކަކީ މިއީ މިއަދު އެންމެ އިސްކަމެއް ދެއްވައިގެން ރައީސުލްޖުމްހުރިއްޔާ ހައްލުކުރައްވަން ބޭނުންވާ ކަންތައްތައް.

މި ހައްލު ގެނައުމަށްޓަކައި އަޅުގަނޑުމެން މިވަނީ ރޭވުންތެރި ކަމެއްގެ ތެރެއިން މަސައްކަތްތަކެއް ފަށާފައި. ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ އެކި ކަންކޮޅުތަކުގައި ސްޓޯރޭޖަށް އޮތް އުނދަގޫތަކަށް ހައްލު ހޯދުމަށްޓަކައި މިހާރު ސްޓޯރޭޖް އިތުރުކުރުމަށްޓަކައި ރޭވިފައި ހުރި މަޝްރޫއުތައް ކުރިއަށް ގެންދިއުމަކީ މިހާރު ސްޓޯރޭޖަށް ދިމާވެފައި ހުރި މައްސަލަތަކަަށް ޔަގީންނުންވެސް ކޮންމެވެސް ވަރެއްގެ ހައްލެއް ލިބިގެންދާނެ ކަމެއް. އަދި ހަމައެއާއެކު ސްޓޯރޭޖް އިތުރުކުރުމަށްޓަކައި އަލަށް ރާވާ ހިންގާނެ ޕްރޮޖެކްޓްތަކެއް ވެސް ރައީސުލްޖުމްހުރިއްޔާގެ މަސްވެރި ސިޔާސަތުގެ ތެރޭގައި ހިމެނޭ. މިކަންތައްތައް އަޅުގަނޑުމެންނަށް ހާސިލު ކުރެއްވިޖެނަމަ އަޅުގަނޑުމެންނަށް އެ ދެވެނީ ގާތްގަނޑަކަށް ސްޓޯރޭޖަށް ޖުމްލަ ހައްލެއް.

އަދި ހަމައެއާއެކު މަސްވެރިންނަށް އައިސް ލިބުމުގައި ހުރީ ދަތިތައް ހައްލުކުރުމަށްޓަކައި މިހާރު ފެށިފައި ހުރި ޕްރޮޖެކްޓަކާއި، (ރާއްޖެގެ އެކި ކަންކޮޅުތަކުގައި) އަދި ހަމައެއާއެކު އަލަށް އައިސް ޕްލާންޓްތައް ގާއިމްކުރަންޖެހޭ ތަންތަނުގައި އައިސް ޕްލާންޓްތައް ގާއިމްކުރެވުނީމަ އަޅުގަނޑުމެން މި ގަބޫލުކުރެވެނީ ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ މަސްވެރިންނަށް އައިސް ބޭނުންވާ މިންވަރަށް ޖުމްލަ ހައްލެއް ލިބިގެންދާނެކަމަށް.

ސަރުކާރުގެ އެންމެ ފުރަތަމަ ދުވަހުން ފެށިގެން މިކަންކަން އަވަސްކުރުމަށްޓަކައި އަޅުގަނޑަަށް ވަނީ އިރުޝާދު ލިބިފައި. އަދި އަޅުގަނޑުމެން މިވަނީ މި މަސައްކަތްތައް ވީހާވެސް އަވަހަކަށް ފެށުމަށްޓަކައި ވަރަށް ބާރަށް މި މަސައްކަތްތައް ކުރިއަށްދާނެ ގޮތްކަށް މި މަސައްކަތްތައް ހަވާލުކޮށްފައި ތިބި ފަރާތްތަކާއި އަދި އަލަށް ހުޅުވާލެވޭ މަސައްކަތްތައް ކުރިއަށް ގެންދަން ރާވާނެ ގޮތްތަކަކާއި ދޭތެރޭގައި އަޅުގަނޑުމެން މިވަނީ ގޮތްތަކެއް ހަމަޖައްސާފާއި.

އާދެ، ރައީސުލްޖުމްހުރިއްޔާގެ ސިޔާސަތުގައި ވަރަށް ބޮޑު އިސްކަމެއް ދެއްވައިގެން ނިންމަވާފައި އެބައޮތް ނިންމެވުމެއް. އެއީ މަސްވެރިންގެ ވަރަށް ގިނަ އާދޭސްތަކެއް. ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ އަރިހުގައި ވަރަށް ގިނަ ރަށްތަކަށް ޒިޔާރަތްކުރުމުގެ ފުރުސަތު އަޅުގަނޑަށް ލިބުނު. މަސްވެރި ކޮމިއުނިޓީތަކުން އަޅުގަނޑުމެންނަށް އައި އެއް ވާހަކައަކީ މިފްކޯ ނެޝަނަލައިޒް ކުރުމުގެ ވާހަކަ. އަނެއްހެން ދަންނަވާކަމަށް ވަނީނަމަ، މަސްވެރިންގެ ބަހުރުވައިން ދަންނަވާކަމަށްވަނީނަމަ މިފްކޯ މިނިވަންކޮށްދިނުމުގެ ވާހަކަ. އެނގިވަޑައިގަންނަވާނެ އަޅުގަނޑު ދާދި ދެންމެއަކު މި ދެންނެވީ ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ ބޭއްވެވި އެންމެ ފުރަތަމަ ކެބިނެޓް ކަރުދާހެއްގެ ގޮތުގައި މަސްވެރިންނާއި ގުޅުންހުރި ކަރުދާހެއްގެ މަސައްކަތް ނިމޭ ވާހަކަ. އެ މަސައްކަތް އެގޮތަށް ކުރުމަށް މިހާރު ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާގެ ކެބިނެޓުން އެ ވަނީ ނިންމާފައި. އެކަން ނިންމެވުމުގެ މައިގަނޑު މަގްސަދަކީ މިފްކޯ ހިންގުމުގައި މަސްވެރިންގެ ދައުރެއް ބޭއްވުން. މަސްވެރިންގެ ދައުރެއް މިފްކޯ ހިންގުމުގައި ބާއްވަން ރައީސުލްޖުމްހުރިއްޔާގެ ވިސްނުންފުޅުގައި އޮތީ މަސްވެރިން ހިމެނޭ ކޯޕަރޭޓިވް އެއް އުފައްދައި، އެ ކޯޕަރޭޓިވްގެ ހިއްސާ މިފްކޯގައި އޮންނާނެ ގޮތަށް، މިފްކޯގެ ބޯޑުގައި އެ ކޯޕަރޭޓިވް ތަމްސީލް ކުރެވޭނެ ގޮތެއްގެ އިންތިޒާމް. އެ ހިސާބުން މަސްވެރިންގެ ސީދާ ދައުރު މިފްކޯ ހިންގުމަށް ލިބިގެން އެ ދިޔައީ.

އަދި ހަމައެއާއެކީގައި މަސްވެރިންނާއެކީގައި މިފްކޯ އަދި ފިޝަރީޒް މިނިސްޓްރީ ހިމެނޭހެން ކޮންމެ އަހަރަކު މިހާރު މި ބާއްވާ އެއް ފޯރަމްގެ ބަދަލުގައި ރާއްޖެގެ އުތުރާއި ދެކުނުގައި ދެ ފޯރަމް ކޮންމެ އަހަރަކު ބާއްވަން ނިންމަވާފައިވާކާމީވެސް މަސްވެރިންނާއި މިފްކޯއާއި އަދި ފިޝަރީޒް މިނިސްޓްރީއާ ގާތުން މަސައްކަތް ކުރެއްވުމަށް އެމަނިިކުފާނުގެ ވިސްނުންފުޅުގައި މުހިއްމުކަމަށްވާތީ..

މި ފޯރަމްތަކުގައި، މި ބައްދަލުވުންތަކުގައި އިވޭ ވާހަކަތަކަކީ، ހަމައެކަނި އިވޭ ވާހަކަތަކަކަށް ނަހައްދަވާ، މަސްވެރިންގެ ހުރި އުނދަގޫ ގޮންޖެހުންތައް ހައްލު ކުރުމަށްޓަކައި ދެވަނަ ފޯރަމަކަަށް އަޅުގަނޑުމެން ދާއިރުގައި އެ ހައްލާއި އެކީގައި ދެވޭނެ ގޮތަކަަށް އަޅުގަނޑުމެން އަމާޒު ހިފުން އެއީ އަޅުގަނޑުމެންނަށް އެމަނިިކުފާނު ދެއްވާފައިވާ އިރުޝާދު.

އަޅުގަނޑު ގަބޫލުކުރާގޮތުގައި ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ މަސްވެރި ސިނާއަތު ކުރިއަރާއިރު އަޅުގަނޑުމެން އެންމެން އެއްކޮށް ތެދުވަންޖެހޭ. މަސްވެރިންނާއި މަސްވެރި އާއިލާތަކާއި، މަސްވެރި ސިނާއަތުގައި މަސައްކަތްތަކެއް ކުރައްވާ ގައުމީ ކުންފުނިތައް، މި ދެންނެވީ ސަރުކާރު ކުންފުނިތަކާއި އަދި ޕްރައިވެޓް ކުންފުނިތައް އެންމެން އެކީގާއި ތެދުވެވޭނެ ގޮތެއް އަޅުގަނޑުމެންގެ ސިޔާސަތަށް މިވަނީ.

ދާދިފަހުން މަސްވެރިންގެ އަތުން މިފްކޯއިން މަސް ގަންނަ އަގަށް ބަދަލުތަކެއް އައީ. އެ ބަދަލު އައިފަހުން މަސްވެރިންނަށް ފައިސާ ދިނުމުގައި އުނދަގޫ ތަކެއް އެބަހުރި. ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާގެ ވައުދު ފުޅަކަށް މި އޮތީ މީގެކުރިން އެމަނިިކުފާނުގެ ކެމްޕެއިންގައި ވަޑައިގެންނެވިއިރު މަހުގެ އަގު، މި ދެންނެވީ މިފްކޯއިން މަސްވެރިންގެ އަތުން ގަންނަ އަގު މިހުރީ 17 ރުފިޔާގައި. ނަމަވެސް ރައީސުލްޖުމްހުރިއްޔާ ވަޢުދުވެވަޑައިގެންނެވީ 20 ރުފިޔާއަށްވުރެ ދަށް ނޫން އަގެއްގައި މަސްވެރިން ބާނާ މަސް މިފްކޯއަށް ކިރޭނެ އިންތިޒާމެއް ހަމަޖެއްސުން. ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ އެމަނިކުފާނުގެ ޒައާމަތު ފެއްޓެވިއިރު މަސްވެރިކަމުގެ ވުޒާރާއަށްވެސް މިވަނީ ބަދަލުތަކެއް ގެންނަވާފައި. މަސްވެރިކަމަށް ވުޒާރާ ހާއްސަ ކުރައްވައިފި. މީގެކުރިން މަސްވެރި ވުޒާރާއާއި ދަނޑުވެރި ވުޒާރާ އެއްކޮށް އޮތްއޮތުން އެމަނިކުފާނު ނިންމެވީ މަސްވެރިކަމަށްވެސް އަދި ދަނޑވެރިކަމަށްވެސް ހާއްސަ އަހަމިއްޔަތުކަމެއް ދިނުމުގެ ބޭނުންފުޅުގައިކަން އަޅުގަނޑުމެންނަށް އެބަ އެނގޭ. އަދި ހަމަ އެއާއެކު މަސްވެރި ވުޒާރާގެ ނަމަށް މި ގެނެވުނު ބަދަލަކީ އެނގިވަޑައިގަންނަވާނެ މިނިސްޓްރީ އޮފް ފިޝަރީޒް އެންޑް އޯޝަން ރިސޯސަސް މިހާރު ނަމުގެ ގޮތުގައި މިވަނީ ހަމަޖެހިފައި. ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގައި ޒަމާނުއްސުރެ ކުރަމުން މި އަންނަ ދެމެހެއްޓެނިވި މަސްވެރިކަން ވަރަށް ބޮޑަށް މި އޮންނަނީ ލިމިޓްވެފައި ކަޅުބިލަ މަހާއި ކަންޏެއްޔަށް. އެހެންނަމަވެސް އެނގިވަޑައިގަންނަވާނެ މަސްވެރިކަމުގައި ތަފާތު އެކި ބާވަތްތަކުގެ މަސްވެރިކަން އެބަ އުޅޭ.. ފަރުމަސްވެރިކަމުގެ އުޅޭ ފަރާތްތައް އެބަ ބުނޭ ތިމަންނާމެން މިއީ އުޅޭ ބައެއްކަން ނުދަންނަނީތޯ. ފާނަ މަސްވެރިކަން ކުރައްވާ ފަރާތްތައް އެބަ ވިދާޅުވޭ ިމަންނާމެން މިއީ އުޅޭ ބައެއްކަން ނުދަންނަނީތޯ.

އަޅުގަނޑުމެން މިއަންނަނީ އިރާދަކުރެއްވިއްޔާ ޖުމްލަ ހައްލެއް މަސްވެރިކަމަށް، މި ސިނާއަތުގައި އުޅުއްވާ ބޭފުޅުންނަށް ޖުމްލަ ހައްލެއް ހޯދައިދިނުމަށްޓަކައި ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ އެ ވަޑައިގެންނެވީ. އޭގެތެރޭގައި ކަޅުބިލަމަސް، ކަންނެނި މަސްވެރިކަން، ފަރުމަސްވެރިކަން، ފާނަ މަސްވެރިކަން ކުރާ ފަރާތްތައް މި ޕްލޭންއަކުން ބާކީއެއް ނުވާނެ. އަދިހަމަ އެއާއެކީގައި ކަނޑުގެ ރޯދި އަޅުގަނޑުމެންނަށް އެބަ އެނގޭ. ކަނޑުން އަމްދަނީ ހޯދަން ކުރަން ހުރި މަސައްކަތްތައް ކުރުމަށް މި ނަމާއެކީގައި މަގުފަހި މިއޮތީކޮށްފައި.

ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގައި އެކި ބާވަތުގެ މަސްވެރިކަން، އެކި ބާވަތުގެ މަސައްކަތްތައް ކޮށްގެން އާމްދަނީ ލިބެން އޮތްކަން ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ ވަރަށް ބޮޑަށް ގަބޫލުފުޅު ކުރައްވައިގެން މި ބަދަލު ގެންނަވާފައި މިއޮތީ. އަދި މަސްވެރިކަމުގެ ވުޒާރާގެ މެންޑޭޓަށްވެސް މިވަނީ ވަރަށް ބޮޑު ބަދަލެއް ގެންނަވާފައި. މެރިކަލްޗަރ، އަދި ހަމައެއާއެކީގައި އެންވެރިކަމަށް ހުރި ގޮންޖެހުންތައް ހައްލުކުރުމަށްޓަކައި.. އެންވެރިކަމަކީވެސް ދުނިޔޭގެ އެހެން ބައެއް ޤައުމުތަކުގައި އާމްދަނީ ހޯދަން ވަކި ބަޔަކު އެންވެރިކަން ކޮށްގެން، އެ އެން މަސްވެރިންނަށް ވިއްކައިގެން ދިރިއުޅޭ އާއިލާތައްވެސް އެބަ އުޅޭ. އަޅުގަނޑު ނުދަންނަވަން ކޮންމެހެން އެގޮތަށް އެ އަމާޒަށް އަޅުގަނޑުމެން ދަނީއޭ. އެހެންނަމަވެސް މިހުރީ ހައްތަހާވެސް އަޅުގަނޑުމެން އެކްސްޕްލޯ ކުރަންހުރި ކަންކަން. ކަނޑުން ނަފާވެރިކަން އިތުރުކުރެވޭނެ ހުރިހާ ގޮތެއް އަޅުގަނޑުމެންނަށް އިރާދަކުރެއްވިއްޔާ މަސްވެރި ވުޒާރާގެ މި އައު މެންޑާޓާއެކީގައި އަޅުގަނޑުމެންނަށް އެބައޮތް ފެންނަން. އަޅުގަނޑުގެ ވާހަކަ މާ ދިގެއް ނުކުރާނަން. އަޅުގަނޑުމެން 43 ވަނަ މަސްވެރިންގެ ދުވަސް ފާހަގަކުރުމަށްޓަކައި ތަފާތު އެކި ޕްރޮގްރާމްތައް މިމަހުގެ 8 ވަނަ ދުވަހުން ފެށިގެން ކުރިއަށް އެބަ ގަންދަމު. އޭގެތެރޭގައި ޑިސެމްބަރުމަހުގެ 8 ވަނަ ދުވަހު ކުޑަކުދިންގެ ހަވީރެއް މިފްކޯގެ ވަރަށް ބޮޑު ދައުރެއް، މިފްކޯއިން އިސްނަގައިގެން އަރބަންކޯއާ އެކީގައި ފިޝަރިޒް މިނިސްޓްރީއާ އެކީގައި ކުޑަކުދިންގެ ވަރަށް ހިތްޤާއިމު ހަވީރެއް 8 ވަނަ ދުވަހު ބޭއްވިގެން ދިޔަ. ވަރަށް ބޮޑު ތަރުހީބެއް މި ހަވީރަށް ލިބިގެންދިޔަ އެކަންވެސް އަޅުގަނޑުމެން ފާހަގަކުރަން. ހަމައެއާއެކީގައި އިއްޔެ ޑިސެމްބަރުމަހުގެ 9 ވަނަ ދުވަހު ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ އެކި ކަންކޮޅުތަކުން 40 މަސްވެރިންނާއި އެކީގައި މަސްވެރިންގެ ގުންޒަރު މީރުމާ ހޯލްގައި ކުރިއަށްދިޔައީ 6:00 ޖަހަންދެން. ދިޔައިރުގައި ތަފާތު އެކި މައުޟޫއުތަކުގައި މަސްވެރިންނަށް މައުލޫމާތު ހިއްސާކޮށްދެއްވުމަށްޓަކައި ބެންކް އޮފް މޯލްޑިވްސްގެ ބޭފުޅުން ފިޝަރީޒް މިނިސްޓްރީގެ ޓެކްނިކަލް ޓީމާއި ޕްރައިވެޓް ކުންފުޏެއްކަމަށްވާ އެންސިސްއާ އަދި ހަމައެއާއެކީގައި ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާގެ ވަރަށް މުހިއްމު ވައުދުފުޅެއް އެނގިވަޑައިގަންނަވާނެ މަސްވެރިކަމުގައި ވަރަށް ނުރައްކާތެރި އެކްސިޑެންޓްތައް އެބަ ހިނގާ. މިހާރު މަސްވެރިކަމުގައި އެން ހޯދަން އެބަ ފީނާ ފުޅި އަޅައިގެން.. މިގޮތަށް ފީނާއިރުގައި ވަރަށް ނުރައްކާތެރި އެކްސިޑޭންޓްތައް އެބަ ދިމާވޭ... ޑީކޯ ޑައިވް އަޅުގަނޑުމެން މިކިޔާ ޑިކޮޕްރެޝަން ޑައިވް ކުރެވިގެން މިދިމާވާ މައްސަލަތަކަކީ އޭގައި ހޭލުންތެރިކަން އެއީ އެއް ސަބަބު. ހޭލުންތެރިކަން ނެތުން އެއީ އެއް ސަބަބު. ނޫނީ އެ ޑައިވިންގ ކުރާއިރުގައި އެ ހިފަހައްޓަންޖެހޭ ހަމަތައް އެނގި ހުރެމެވެސް ބައެއް ފަހަރު އެކަންތައްތަކަށް ފަރުވާކުޑަކުރެވުން އެއީ އެއް ސަބަބު. މި ލިބޭ އަނިޔާ ނުވަތަ މި ލިބެ ގެއްލުން ކުޑަކުރުވުމަށްޓަކައި ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާގެ ވަރަށް ބޮޑު ވިސްނުންފުޅެއް އެބައޮތް. ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ މަސްވެރި މި ފްލީޓްގައި ކޮންމެ ދޯންޏެއްގައި މަދުވެގެން ރެސްކިއު ޑައިވިންގ ސެޓްފިކެޓް އޮތް އެއް ފަޅުވެރިޔަކު ހުރުން ލާޒިމްކުރާ ސިޔާސަތު. އެނގިވަޑައިގަންނަވާނެ ރެސްކިއު ޑައިވަރަކާއި ހިސާބަށް ދާއިރުގައި އޯޕަން ވޯޓަރ އެޑްވާންސް އަދި ބައެއް ކަހަލަ ސްޕެޝާލިޓީ ޑައިވިންގ އޭގެތެރޭގައި ހިމެނޭ. މެޑިކް ފަސްޓް އެއިޑަކު ހިމެނޭ. ދެން މިއަންނަނީ ރެސްކިއު ޑައިވިންގ. އެނގިވަޑައިގަންނަވާނެ މަސްވެރިންނަކީ ވަރަށް ބޮޑު ރިސްކެއްގެ ތެރޭގައި މަސައްކަތްކުރައްވާ ބައެއް. ހަސްފަތާލުތަކާއި ދުރުގައި ކަނޑުމަތީގައި ދުރުގައި މަސައްކަތްކުރައްވާ ބައެއް މަސްވެރިންނަކީ. އެހެންނަމަވެސް މިފަދަ ނިޒާމެއްގެ ތެރެއިން ރެސްކިއު ޑައިވަރެއް ކޮންމެ ދޯންޏެއްގައި ބެހެއްޓިއްޖެކަމަށްވާނީނަމަ އެމަޖެންސީކޮށް އެކަމަށް އެޓެންޑްކުރެވޭނެ އަދި އެނގިވަޑައިގެންނަވާނެ ރެސްކިއު ޑައިވަރަކީ އޮކްސިޖަން އެޑްމިނިސްޓަރ ކުރަން އެނގޭނެ ސެޓްފިކެޓް އޮތް ޑައިވަރަކަށް ވާނެ. އަޅުގަނޑުމެންނަށް އެބަ ފެނޭ ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ މަސް ދޯނި ފަހަރުގައި މުސްތަގްބަލުގައި އޮކްސިޖަން ސިލިންޑަރވެސް ހުންނަ ތަން. އެއީ މިހެން މި ދެންނެވީ އޮކްސިޖަން އެޑްމިނިސްޓަރކުރަން ރެސްކިއު ޑައިވަރަކަށް އެނގޭނެތީވެ ސަލާމަތާއި ރައްކާތެރިކަމަށް އެކަމަކީވެސް ހަމަ މުސްތަގްބަލުގައި ކުރެވިގެންދާނެ ކަމެއްކަމާއި ދޭތެރޭ އަޅުގަނޑު ޝައްކެއް ނުކުރަން. އާދެ މި ގުންޒަރުގައި ޑައިވަރުންނަށް މައުލޫމާތު ދެއްވުމަށްޓަކައި ޑައިވަރސް ލޮޖް މޯލްޑިވްސްގެ ފަރާތުންވެސް ބޭފުޅުން ވަޑައިގެންނެވި. އަދި ހަމައެއާއެކީގައި މަސްވެރި ސިނާއަތުގައި މަސައްކަތްކުރައްވާ އެހެން ބޭފުޅުން މަސްވެރިންގެ ހުރި ސުވާލުތަކާއި މަސްވެރިންގެ ހުރި ކަންބޮޑުވުންތަކާއި އެކީގައި މި ބޭއްވުނު ސައްލާގައި އެ ބޭފުޅުންގެ ކޮންޓްރިބިއުޝަން ވަރަށް ބޮޑަށް ލިބިގެންދިޔަކަން އަޅުގަނޑު ފާހަގަކުރަން. ތަންކޮޅެއް ހޫނުވި މެންދުރު ގަޑީގައި،. އެއީ ދެން މަސްވެރިންގެ ސައްލާތައް އާއްމުކޮށް ހަމަ ހުންނަ ގޮތްކަން އަޅުގަނޑުމެން މި ޤަބޫލުކުރަނީ. އެހެންނަމަވެސް ނިމިގެންދިޔައިރު އަޅުގަނޑަށް އެނގުނީ، އަޅުގަނޑު ވަރަށް ގިނަ ވަގުތު އެތާނގައި ހޭދަކުރިން.. އަޅުގަނޑަށް އެނގުނީ ވަރަށް ޕްރޮޑަކްޓިވް ފޯރަމެއްކަން. ވަރަށް ގިނަ ކަންތައްތަކަށް ހައްލު ހޯދުމަށްޓަކައި، މަސްވެރިންގެ ހުރި އުނދަގޫތައް ޔަގީނުންވެސް ހިއްސާކުރެވިގެން ދިޔަ ފޯރަމަކަށް އެ ފޯރަމް ވެގެންދިޔައީ. ފޯރަމް ކުރިއަށްދިޔައިރު ހަމަ މަސްވެރިންގެ ދުވަހާއި ގުޅިގެން މަނިޔަފުށީގައި މޯލްޑިވްސް މެރިން ރިސާޗް އިންސްޓިޓިއުޓުން ސްކޫލް ކުދިންނަށް ސެޝަންތަކެއް ކުރިއަށްގެންދެވުނު. މާލޭގެ 3 ސްކޫލަކާއި ބައެއް ސްކޫލްތަކުގެ ޓީޗަރުންނާއި އެކީގައި ކުރިއަށް ގެންދެވުނު ސެޝަން ބަލާލަންވެސް އަޅުގަނޑަށް ދެވުނު. ވަރަށް އެންޖޯއީކުރި ކުދިން. އަޅުގަނޑަށް ޔަގީނުންވެސް ބައެއް ޕޭރަންޓުންނާއި ބައެއް ޓީޗަރުންނާއި ބައްދަލުވިއިރުގައި.. އަޅުގަނޑުމެން އެބަޖެހޭ މަސައްކަތްތަކެއް ކުރަން. މެރިން ސައިންސް ކިޔަވާ ދަރިވަރުން ތަންކޮޅެއް ގިނަ ފުރުސަތުތަކެއް އަޅުގަނޑުމެން ފަހިކޮށްދޭންޖެހޭކަން އަޅުގަނޑު އެބޭފުޅުންނާއި ބައްދަލުކުރިކުރުމުން އެނގިގެންދިޔަ. އާދެ، ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ މަސްވެރިކަމުގެ ޤާނޫނުން އެބަ ލާޒިމްކުރޭ މަސްވެރިކަމުގެ މެނޭޖްމަންޓާއި މަސްވެރިކަމުގެ ޓްރެއިނިންގ ދޭނެ ވަސީލަތްތައް ނޫނީ އެކަން ފަހިކުރަން ސަރުކާރަށް އެބަ ލާޒިމްކުރޭ. އަޅުގަނޑަށް ހަމަ ޔަގީން އަޅުގަނޑުމެންގެ ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާގެ ވިސްނުންފުޅު ތަންމިނަށް އޮތްކަން. އާދެ، އަޅުގަނޑު މަސްވެރިންގެ ދުވަހުގެ ހުރިހާ ކަމެއްގައި ހަރަކާތްތެރި ވަޑައިގެންނެވި ހުރިހާ ފަރާތްތަކަށް، އެއްވެސް ފަރާތެއް އަޅުގަނޑު އުނި ނުކުރަން. ހުރިހާ ފަރާތްތަކަށް އަޅުގަނޑު ވަރަށް އިހްލާސްތެރިކަމާއެކީގައި ޝުކުރު ދަންނަވަން. އަދި އެނގިވަޑައިގަންނަވާނެ އަޅުގަނޑުމެން މަސްވެރިންގެ ދުވަސް މި ފާހަގަކުރަނީ ކުއްލި ގޮތަކަށް. ބަޖެޓްގެ އުނދަގޫ އަޅުގަނޑުމެންނަށް އޮތީ. އާއްމު ގޮތެއްގައި މަސްވެރިންގެ ދުވަސް މި ފާހަގަކުރަނީ ރާއްޖޭގެ ދެކުނުގައި ނުވަތަ އުތުރުގައި. އަތޮޅުތެރޭގައި. މިފަހަރު ވަގުތާއި ބަޖެޓާއި މި ހުރިހާ ކަމަކަށް ރިޔާއަތްކުރުމަށްފަހު އަޅުގަނޑުމެން ނިންމީ މާލޭގައި މި ހަފްލާ ބާއްވަން. ނުވަތަ މި ޕްރޮގްރާމްތައް ބާއްވަން. އަޅުގަނޑު ހިތަށްއެރި، އަޅުގަނޑުމެން އެބަޖެހެއޭ ކޮންމެ 5 އަހަރުން އެއް އަހަރު މާލޭގައި ބާއްވަން. މި ބޮޑު އާބާދީ.. ބައިވަރު ކުޑަކުދިން..ޔަގީނުންވެސް ބައިވަރު މަސްވެރިން މި ސަރަހައްދުގައި މާލޭގައި އެބަ ދިރިއުޅޭ. އަޅުގަނޑުމެންނަށް މި ތަނަވަސް މި މާހައުލުގައި މަސްވެރިންގެ ދުވަހުގެ މި ހުރިހާ އިންތިޒާމްތަކެއް މި ކުރިއަށް ގެންދެވެނީ ވަރަށް ގިނަ ބައެއްގެ ވަރަށް ދީލަތި އެހީއާއެކީގައި. އެހެންކަމުން މިކަންކަމުގައ އަޅުގަނޑުމެންނަށް އެހީތެރިކަން ފޯރުކޮށްދެއްވި ހުރިހާ ބޭފުޅުންނަށް އަޅުގަނޑު ވަރަށް އިހްލާސްތެރިކަމާއެކީގައި ޝުކުރު ދަންނަވަން.

މަސްވެރިންގެ ދުވަހުގެ މި ހުރިހާ ޕްރޮގްރާމްތަކަށް، ވަކިން ހާއްސަކޮށް މަސްވެރިންނާއި ގުޅިގެން މި ކުރިއަށް ގެންދެވުނު ގުންޒަރު ނިމިގެންދިޔައީ ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ އެ ބޭފުޅުންނާއި ބައްދަލުކުރައްވާފައި.. އެ ވާހަކަ އަޅުގަނޑު ދަންނަވައިފިން. އަދި ހަމައާއެކީގައި މަސްވެރިންގެ ދުވަހުގެ މި ހާއްސަ ހަފްލާ ފުރިހަމަވެގެން މިދަނީ ޔަގީނުންވެސް ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ އަޅުގަނޑުމެންނާއި އެކީގައި ބައިވެރިވެވަޑައިގަންނަވާތީ. އަޅުގަނޑު ވަރަށް އިހްލާސްތެރިކަމާއެކީގައި އަޅުގަނޑުގެ އަމިއްލަ ނަމުގައި އަޅުގަނޑުގެ ވުޒާރާގެ ހުރިހާ ބޭފުޅުންގެ ނަމުގައި، މަސްވެރި މުޅި ކޮމިއުނިޓީގެ ނަމުގައި މަނިކުފާނަށް ވަރަށް އިހްލާސްތެރިކަމާއެކީގައި ޝުކުރު ދަންނަވަން. ވަރަށް ކުއްލި ގޮތަކަށް އަޅުގަނޑުމެން ނިންމި ނިންމުންތަކެއް އަޅުގަނޑު ވަރަށް ހާއްސަ ޝުކުރެއް އަޅުގަނޑުގެ ޓީމަށް، މިނިސްޓްރީ އޮފް ފިޝަރީޒް އެންޑް އޯޝަން ރިސޯސަސް ޓީމަށް.. ވަރަށް ހީވާގި ޓީމެއް. ވަރަށް ކުރު ނޯޓިސްއެއްގައި އަޅުގަނޑުމެން މިކަން ކުރަންޖެހުނީ ހުރިހާ ބޭފުޅުންނަށް ވަރަށް އިހްލާސްތެރިކަމާއެކީގައި ޝުކުރު ދަންނަވަން. މިރޭ ވަރަށް ގިނަ ބޭފުޅުން މި ސްޓޭޖުން އިނާމު ހިއްޕަވައިގެން ވަޑައިގަންނަވާނެ. އަޅުގަނޑު އިން އެޑްވާންސް ކުރިއާލާ އެ ބޭފުޅުންނަށް ވަރަށް ބޮޑަށް މަރުހަބާ ދަންނަވަން.

އަޅުގަނޑު ވާހަކަ ކުރުކޮށްލާނަން. އަޅުގަނޑުގެ އިހްލާސްތެރި ދުއާއަކީ ދިވެހި މަސްކަނޑުތަކުގެ ފުރިހަމަ ނަފާ ހޯދުމުގެ ހެޔޮ ތައުފީގް މާތް ﷲ އަޅުގަނޑުމެންނަށް މިންވަރު ކުރެއްވުން. ދިވެހި މަސްވެރިންނަށް ފުދުންތެރި، އަބުރުވެރި ދިރިއުޅުމެއް އުޅުމުގެ ތަނަވަސްކަން މާތް ﷲ މިންވަރު ކުރެއްވުން.
