Government Commits to Supporting Increased Revenue in the Fisheries Sector - State Minister Mohamed Muththalib

State Minister Mohamed Muththalib made this statement while delivering a speech at the special ceremony held to inaugurate the fish processing facility established by Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) in Fuvahmulah City.

The fish processing facility established by MIFCO in Fuvahmulah City will bring numerous benefits to fishermen in Fuvahmulah and surrounding islands ( Fishermen) , as well as to stakeholders engaged in the fisheries industry.

Emphasising the need to advance fishing industry, State Minister Mohamed Muththalib highlighted the importance of ensuring fish catches are brought safely to the facility in iced condition. He further stated that the government will provide assistance to fishermen in this regard.

State Minsiter Muththalib said the new fish processing facility offers fishermen the assurance of a stable, permanent market for their catch. Additionally, he stated that the Fuvahmulah City  Fish Processing Facility will open up more  opportunities to increase income from the fisheries sector and will also supply safe, high quality fish products to the public.
