Biosecurity for the Import and Export of Living Marine Organisms, Marine Animals, and Their Products in the Maldives - A Two‑Day Training Programme

In collaboration with the AquaBiotech Group, the Ministry of Fisheries & Ocean Resources is conducting a 2-day training session on "Biosecurity for Import and Export of Living Marine Organisms, Marine Animals and their Products in the Maldives." The training is conducted under the Ministry's project: Transforming Fisheries Sector Management in the South-West Indian Ocean Region and Maldives.

Day 1 of the training, held on 7 January 2026, focused on enhancing national capacity in aquatic animal health management. Sessions covered a range of technical areas, including aquatic diseases, zoonotic risks, and disease diagnostics. Participants also engaged in practical activities on disease identification methods aimed at strengthening early detection systems and institutional response capacity.
